Embedding a slideshow

Embedding a KoffeePhoto slide show on a web page is a straight forward task. Go to the page of the photo album, click on Share button and select the Mini Slideshow option. You’ll get a small HTML code to paste onto your web site.

Be aware that some blogging platform to not support the <iframe> command. You may have to edit your post in HTML mode.

More photo management interactivity available online

Our recently launched revamped online photo sharing pages provide for more interactivity in photo management.

Functions previously only available from our software client have now been included into the online pages. These functions include creation of photo albums, upload of photos, interactive photo album management and photo editing. Obviously, these functions are only available in connected mode and on one’s own pictures.

This addition should allow for more photo management interactivity on computers where KoffeePhoto software is not installed. The only requirement is the availability on Java.

As some functions require uploading of the files, special care needs to be taken before closing the browser. Make sure to check the progress bar located on the upper left corner before closing the browser. The progress bar should become an OK button before safely returning to other online operations.

How to: Use your KoffeePhoto stored photo albums as a screensaver

Using our recently introduced Media RSS feeds and the Windows based free Media Feed Screen Saver, displaying pictures stored on your KoffeePhoto account or on a friend’s KoffeePhoto account as a screensaver is very easy.

  • Download and install the Media Feed Screen Saver software.
  • Go to the KoffeePhoto web pages displaying the album from which you want to have the pictures displayed as a screensaver.
  • Copy and paste the URL of the RSS feed of the selected photo album and you’re done.

You can also use these RSS feeds to display pictures on compatible wireless digital picture frames.

Photo sharing: KoffeePhoto or Facebook?

When it comes to sharing photos, KoffeePhoto or Facebook are some of the options.

Why having to choose? Among others, Facebook is great to manage connections and share photos. KoffeePhoto goes beyond when it comes to manage and backup your whole photo library. Thus KoffeePhoto provides for sharing and retrieving your original photos if needed. So why not use the best of both worlds?

Our recently launched revision added a Facebook based photo sharing function. This new feature provides for sharing a single photo or a whole album by sending a message to designated Facebook friends or by posting a message to your Facebook profile. It also provides for optionally including a preview. While you can edit all information, the caption and description of the shared photo or album are automatically included. Obviously a link to the designated web page is included for full browsing.

You can’t wait? Go to your KoffeePhoto Web Space, log in, select the photo or album you want to share and click on the Share button. The few steps are rather self-explanatory. You obviously need a Facebook account.

As always, feedback is welcome.

How to: photo microblogging with KoffeePhoto

Did you know that KoffeePhoto features photo microblogging?

As we think that microblogging gives to photo sharing an extra dimension, photo microblogging features are associated to each photo stored (and shared) on KoffeePhoto. Just make sure comments are allowed on that given album (check the Album properties in the KoffeePhoto software) and off you go. Turn each photo into a community event!
